Haptic Augmented Reality

Introducing touch for untouchable museum artefacts. Collaborative work, part of the Touching the Untouchable AHRC/EPSRC funded project. In this project we sought to create an augmented reality experience for museum audiences by proposing a novel interaction technique that creates the illusion of tactile exploration with museum artefacts which are otherwise impossible to touch. Because we sought to augment the touch sense, we called this technique Haptic Augmented Reality.
